The ReelFlies® Foam Hex Dry offers a substantial mayfly profile for trout feeding on large Hexagenia mayflies. Its golden yellow, segmented foam body extends beyond the hook, creating a lifelike abdomen while adding buoyancy to support the fly at the surface.

A swept hair wing and bushy hackle complete the profile, giving this pattern a full silhouette for trout looking up for a sizeable meal. The extended body captures the shape of a large mayfly without requiring the hook to run the entire length of the insect.

Fish it over rising trout during a Hex hatch or through feeding lanes where large mayflies are drifting. Place your cast ahead of the fish and let the fly travel naturally with the current, keeping drag to a minimum.

Key Features

Extended foam body: Adds buoyancy and creates the elongated shape of a large mayfly.

Segmented golden yellow abdomen: Provides colour and definition suited to a Hexagenia imitation.

Swept hair wing: Adds texture and a prominent insect silhouette.

Bushy hackle: Helps support the fly on the surface and suggests the insect’s legs.

Presentation tip: Fish with a drag free drift and apply suitable floatant sparingly to the wing and hackle as needed.
